With a presence in over 60 countries, Operation Smile provides free life-changing surgeries for children in need worldwide. Operation Smile's network of more than 5,000 medical volunteers donate their time and talent to improve the health and lives of children born with facial deformities. Since 1982, Operation Smile has given more than 2 million patient evaluations and provided over 200,000 free surgeries for children and young adults born with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities.
In addition to providing thousands of surgeries each year, Operation Smile donates medical equipment and trains local medical professionals in its partner countries to lay the groundwork for long-term self-sufficiency in developing countries so more children can be treated year-round."
